menandsadmin Community News, Featured News, Village News The “Fill the Mayflower” Food drive is now in its 5th year. The goal of the drive is to collect non-perishable food items for area food pantries in preparation for the Holiday Season, when the demand is so great. Every year our donations have increased and hopefully this year’s drive will be the most successful yet. The date of the drive is Saturday November 23 and Sunday November 24th. As in past years, we will be looking for volunteers to distribute flyers and collection bags throughout the village on Saturday afternoon, and also to return Sunday afternoon, to collect the donations and bring them to the Mayflower Moving Van from Clark Moving and Storage and hopefully “Fill the Mayflower” to capacity so that we can assist those less fortunate during the holiday season. The project has grown tremendously over the years. In addition to the folks in Menands Cares, we have also counted on help from the Girl Scouts, Brownies, Daisy’s, Menands Baseball, and the Students at Menands School. Once again I am asking for your support as we plan this years drive. Our target dates are November 23 an 24th.
