Mayor Megan Grenier

The Village of Menands, with its three square miles and population of over 4000 residents, is truly a unique place to live and do business. Located within the Town of Colonie and centrally located between the Cities of Albany and Watervliet, Menands lies in the heart of Tech Valley. We are conveniently situated just minutes from every major highway. Our demographic is ideal for residents and business owners alike.

No matter what section of the village you live in, each one has its own special qualities and together they make Menands a special place to live. Whether it is the center village with its historic homes, the south end where families have lived for generations, the Park Hill area with its scenic views, the Sky Hollow and Sage Hill areas that are beautiful communities within themselves, one of the many different styled apartment complexes, or any other part of the Village, Menands has something to offer everyone.

As Mayor of Menands, I am proud of the services that are offered to our residents. Maintaining our own Police and Fire departments secures the safety of all who work and reside in Menands. Our Department of Public Works is second to none, providing services that are greatly appreciated by the residents and part of what draws people to our community. Our school district is top rated and offers opportunities for our young people that they will carry forward into adult life.

Menands is a small community, hosting many events and activities for families. Our Youth program offers swimming lessons at the Town pool, a summer park program including trips to various attractions, holiday parties, movie nights in the park and other events. Menands also offers youth baseball and softball leagues, basketball programs and soccer. Our Senior population enjoys weekly gatherings and exciting trips. The Summer Concert Series held at Ganser-Smith Memorial Park on Tuesday nights begins in July.

As a community where people are not afraid to step up and volunteer, there are ongoing fundraising efforts to support others. It is events such as these that make the Village of Menands a place where people live for generations.

Our business community employs State and private sector employees within the Village. There is so much potential and opportunity for any variety of businesses in Menands. We look forward to further relationships with existing businesses and welcoming new businesses to Menands.

Together, with the members of the Board of Trustees, I am committed to the future of Menands. Striving to attract more business development is a priority, as well as, maintaining the services that are unique to Menands.

It is my honor to serve as Mayor of Menands and I look forward to many years of positive growth for generations to come.
