On Saturday, November 9th from 12:00-4:00pm, Menands will be holding a Military Appreciation Parade and Picnic. The Parade will step off at the Riverview Center at 12 noon and will continue down Broadway, heading north, ending at the Capital District Farmers Market, 381 Broadway. At the Market there will be food, raffles, music and a cake walk.
Any active duty military and veterans are invited to participate in the parade and picnic. Please meet at the Riverview center at 11:30 a.m. if you are able to participate. For those that are not able to march, transportation will be provided. Proceeds to benefit Wounded Warriors, USO, and Blue Star Mothers.
Please be advised that Broadway will be closed beginning at 11:45 a.m. between Riverview Center and Clifford Road until the parade ends. Clifford Road will be open for access for residents on the west side of Broadway but all of the other side streets will be closed. Residents and businesses along the east side of Broadway will not have access to Broadway during the parade and should plan accordingly.
